They were designed to meet an ambitious goal, to generate credible wetlands science for public policy making. These collaborative programs between CIFOR and United States Forest Service have been generously supported by USAID and implemented in almost 30 countries across the tropics. SWAMP continues to generate knowledge to be delivered to policy community and other decision-making bodies, supported by new funding from USAID. The specific objectives of this new phase of SWAMP are: - Generate new multi-disciplinary knowledge in wetland science to address current gaps, such as wetlands and climate change feedback (e.g. release of soil carbon in peats) or the role of wetlands in improving the resilience of coastal communities against extreme disturbances (fires, hurricanes, droughts, and spontaneous dieback). - Inform global stakeholders on the advances of wetland science to help shape their climate change and risk reduction agendas. - Work with national stakeholders to identify governance arrangements (including policy design and implementation) across multiple levels that will enhance resource sustainability as well as climate change adaptation and mitigation, including innovative financing mechanisms. - Support local stakeholders by building their capacity to implement direct actions on the ground to achieve sustainable and equitable livelihoods and enhance their resilience.","researchoverview:Intended Audiences":"Researchers, environmental scientists, ecologists, biogeochemists, climate scientists, land-use planners, and policy stakeholders working on tropical ecosystems, carbon dynamics, and sustainable land management.","citation:Producer":{"producer:Name":"Center for International Forestry Research","producer:Abbreviation":"CIFOR","producer:URL":"https://www.cifor-icraf.org/","producer:Logo URL":"http://www.cifor.org/fileadmin/templatesnew/res/images/logo.gif"},"citation:Topic Classification":{"topicClassification:Term":"Climate change"},"researchoverview:Project Information":{"contributorProject:Project Title":"Mainstreaming Wetlands into the Climate Agenda: A multi-level approach (SWAMP-II)","contributorProject:PMO/Project Code":"USAD-1651"},"Time Period Covered":{"timePeriodCovered:Start":"2021-01-01","timePeriodCovered:End":"2021-03-31"},"Kind of Data":["spatial data","measurement data"],"Language":"English","Subject":"Climate Change, Energy and low carbon development (CCE)","Title":"Supporting raw data of the paper \"Soil respiration and litterfall dynamics along a forest-to-oil palm plantation transition in an Indonesian peatland\"","citation:Depositor":"Erlita, Sufiet","Deposit Date":"2026-05-07","citation:Description":{"dsDescription:Text":"This dataset contains monthly field measurements collected from permanent soil collars, fertilization experiments, and litterfall traps established in forest and oil palm ecosystems in Jambi, Indonesia.
